Shirley graduated from the University of Washington in 1958. Her career has been in public education and she received her PhD degree from the University of Washington in 2002.
We have three children: Anne, born in Seattle March 24, 1962. Jonathan, born in Manila November 22, 1965. Elizabeth, born in Manila February 13, 1970.
